An Art display can be a great way to gather people to point them to Christ.

I have been delighted to see a lot of interest and enthusiasm about Art happening in the Church in recent years!

I love to see Christ-centered, God-glorifying, soul-lifting Art being displayed in museums, galleries, and yes, in the Church too. We regularly enjoy great sermons and great musical worship as ways to proclaim truth and be encouraged, and Art, though never a replacement for those, is another dynamic way we can minister to the body of Christ.

As soon as one enters the foyer of the Church, Art is seen on display and their attention is already on Jesus— before even entering the sanctuary, one is spiritually engaged, and the heart and mind are being prepared to enter in to a time of worship and Bible study. An Art display at your Church or Conference not only prepares hearts for the service or session, but it facilitates well for fellowship following the service or session.

An Art display can also be a great way to connect your kids to the Word of God, or a good conversation starter with a friend you brought to church! There is something very disarming about Art, where the viewer can feel moved and prompted to ask questions. I’ve seen these and many other scenarios play out many times in past Art exhibitions, and it only encourages me all the more to seek opportunities to compliment the Church’s ministry through the ministry of Art.
