An Art Exhibit can be a great way to welcome people to your church to connect and be encouraged. I have seen a resurgence in interest in art happening in the Church, and enthusiasm about seeing more art exhibited in a way that engages visitors with the truth of God and the gospel.

As soon as members and visitors enter the front doors of the church, art can be seen on display where their attention is already being placed on Jesus. Before even entering the sanctuary, one is being spiritually engaged, and the heart and mind are being prepared to enter into a time of worship and study. An art display at your church or conference not only prepares hearts for the worship and the message, but it facilitates for fellowship following the service or as everyone reflects on the message.

An art exhibit can also be a great way to engage kids with the truth of scripture. It’s also a helpful conversation-starter with a friend you may’ve brought to church. There is something very disarming about art, where the viewer can feel moved, and prompted to ask questions and sometimes, a bit more open than usual to having spiritual dialogue. I’ve seen these, and many other scenarios play out many times in past art exhibitions, and it always encourages me to seek more opportunities to share my art.
