Brian Mede was born in San Diego, California and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Art came naturally to Brian, and from childhood, he would spend hours losing himself in the drawings and paintings that would flow from his imagination. He loved sports and the outdoors and by age thirteen, surfing on the Northern California coastline would become a passion of his while continuing his studies in painting, drawing, print making and art history. After graduating from San Francisco State University with a BA in Fine Art in 2002, Brian was given an opportunity to lead the college students at a burgeoning non-denominational church he attended during his senior year. For seven years, Brian led both college and high school students and began to see art as another viable way to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ. In 2009, Brian moved from full time  leadership in the church to a vocation of making and exhibiting art, primarily in churches and at fundraiser benefits. In 2014, Brian traveled to Ethiopia where he explored the country, made new friends, and engaged in various kinds of outreach. In the capital city of Addis Ababa, Brian did art outreaches with street kids where they painted portraits of Jesus. Brian is currently accepting painting commissions, orders for prints of paintings, and is actively exhibiting his work throughout the U.S.. Brian lives and works in San Francisco, California.
